A past president of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity at The Pennsylvania State University, Merritt Sweeney ’00 passed away at the young age of 38 this past January, following a lengthy illness.
Leaving behind his parents, one brother and scores of people who consider themselves lucky to be his friend, Sweeney was a devoted fan of the Arts who loved painting. He was known to have a particular affinity for animals, mainly ferrets and dogs.
