In late 2009, Henry Sahakian came before the State College Planning Commission with a request to rezone a property at 254 E. Beaver Ave. to include mixed-use student housing.
And now, after a year and a half of committee meetings, redesigns and setbacks, Sahakian’s rezoning request could finally be resolved: The request will return to the borough council’s agenda for its May 2 meeting for the first time since January.
The rezoning request for the mixed-use student housing development was originally presented to the planning commission in late 2009, said Planning Director Carl Hess, but it bounced back and forth before surfacing at the council’s Jan. 10 meeting.
