New Year’s Resolutions for Alpha-Delta

A New Year Equals a Fresh Start
During this time, it’s easy to set our eyes on the goals and things we want to accomplish in our lives for the year ahead. How can you use that energy to benefit your organization? The key is to focus on quality instead of quantity in your actions. Read below to discover three New Year’s resolutions that will help you position Alpha-Delta for success.
Love Cars, Eat Too Much

Ask David Dick ’74, about his time as an Alpha-Delta Brother of Kappa Sigma at Penn State University, and you’re likely to find him brimming ear-to-ear as he takes a stroll down memory lane, which makes a stop at the big house, right on Beaver Avenue. Hallowed ground for the Brothers who inhabited it in those days, it was a plus for ease of use and party space and was a great location. The only downside – it didn’t look like those grand, old classic houses that some Fraternities dwelled in.

Prospect- stop by and greet them- they could always use the encouragement of those who came before them. If you haven’t gotten your newsletter yet- keep an eye out!
THON 2019

The Wizard Bids Farewell To Beaver Stadium, Penn State

“The guy has been winning since he was in diapers.” -James Franklin
Trace McSorley, Penn State’s fifth year quarterback out of Ashburn, VA. and the rest of the Nittany Lions put together arguably their most complete performance of the season with a 38-3 victory on Senior Day over the Maryland Terrapins. The Penn State quarterback went out with a bang, scoring two touchdowns with his legs. McSorley leaves behind a legacy of being Penn State’s all-time winningest quarterback. But the Senior Field General hasn’t forgotten all that Penn State has given to him, saying:
“When I was 12 years old, I came to Penn State for a football camp and I remember looking at Beaver Stadium and being in awe of the size of it. I remember thinking to myself how cool it would be to play in a stadium like that. Little did I know one day I would actually be running out of the tunnel of that big stadium that I was once in awe of. I will never forget the feeling of running out of the tunnel for the first time my freshman year. Running onto the field, and not just hearing the roar of the crowd, but feeling the ground shake because of the energy in Beaver Stadium is something that still gives me chills to this day. I am incredibly blessed that Coach Franklin and his staff gave me an opportunity to attend and play for Penn State University. It has been an honor to put on the Blue and White over these past five seasons.

Remembering Mac, Our Faithful Friend

This summer, Kappa Sigma mourned the loss of a beloved brother. On June 14, just two days after his 72nd birthday, Brother George Middlemas Jr. ’68 entered the chapter eternal.
Many knew him as a successful venture capitalist and generous donor — particularly to Penn State Libraries — but in our hearts, he’ll always be Mac, “our constant friend and committed brother,” as his brother Warren Hartenstine ’68 describes him.
