Brother Ed Lammi Now Runs Your Favorite TV Shows

Ed Lammi ’70 may be running some of your favorite shows at Sony Pictures Television today (does Breaking Bad ring any bells?), but his beginnings were in the same place as the rest of us: Alpha-Delta. During his first year at Penn State, Ed found himself feeling like a small fish in a very big pond. He still credits his mother (who, he says, was a very wise lady) with being the first to suggest he join a fraternity.

An Update From H. Wesley Link ‘55

In response to the latest edition of Alpha-Delta News, one of our Brother sent us a submission with answers to a few of our questions. Read on for what he had to say.

What’s new with you these days?

“Gathering of Kappa Sig Brothers from the 50s through the 90s on May 19th and 20th in State College.”

Chances Are You’re Guilty of This

Last month, The Boston Globe published an article with a pretty shocking headline… at least at first glance. But chances are if you’re middle-aged, it fits you to a T. The headline read: “The biggest threat facing middle-aged men isn’t smoking or obesity. It’s loneliness.” It’s not easy to admit you’ve shortchanged your friendships, but if you take a long, hard look at your life, you’ll see the truth.  Find out how Alpha Delta can help.

Kappa Sigma Continues Record Growth

Alpha-Delta Named a Champion Quest Success Story

The 2016-17 school year has been another year of record-breaking growth for Kappa Sigma. According to the latest edition of The Caduceus, the fraternity once again had the largest fall pledge class in the Order’s history, with 5% growth from last year, including the establishment of six new colonies.

Alpha-Delta contributed to that success with 31 new members—our second consecutive fall pledge class with more than 25 pledges—earning the title of a Champion Quest Success Story.

Blue-White Weekend Will Be More Than Just Football!

One of the best weekends of the year is almost here! Blue-White Weekend 2017 will take place over April 21-23, with the game scheduled for Saturday, April 22 at 3 p.m. But the fun won’t just stop at football.

This year, Penn State will let you make your weekend complete at the ballpark, with the baseball team hosting Northwestern for a three game series beginning Friday, April 21. Then on Sunday, you can have fun for a great cause at the annual Paterno Family Beaver Stadium Run, which benefits Special Olympics Pennsylvania.

Are You on LinkedIn?

If you’re not using LinkedIn yet, it’s time for you to get linked! The popular social media platform LinkedIn has emerged in recent years as one of the most powerful networking tools out there, and it’s the perfect way to connect with fellow Kappa Sigs—from both Alpha-Delta and any Kappa Sigma chapter.

There are tons of ways to keep in touch with brothers and network professionally with them on LinkedIn. Do you know all of them?

70-Year-Old Arkansas Tech Student Joins Kappa Sigma

How Kappa Sig Makes Him Feel at Home

Via THV 11 — Some stories just show you that age is just a number. Gary Fryer, a 70-year-old Arkansas Tech University (ATU) student wanted the full college experience, so he decided to join a fraternity.

Fryer said joining the fraternity Kappa Sig makes him feel like he belongs to the school. When he was younger, he would always hang around Kappa Sigs because of his older brother Jack. As Fryer got older, the thought of joining the brotherhood faded away. But now that once faded dream has become a reality.
