The Penn Stater Magazine recently reported the death of one of our Alpha-Delta Brothers
Kenneth S. Frehafer Jr., 69, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away unexpectedly Monday, December 12, 2016 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street. Born in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Kenneth S. Sr. and Bertha Shaw Frehafer.
After graduating from Schuylkill Haven High School, he went on to earn bachelor and master degrees in education from Penn State University. He was employed by the Tulpehocken School District as a junior high history teacher for 40 years before retiring in 2009. During his teaching tenure, Ken was a two-time selection into Who’s Who Among American Teachers. He last worked for the Schuylkill Haven Borough as the assistant recreation director.
A five-decade fast pitch softball player, he most recently served as an assistant women’s softball coach at Albright College. Previously, he coached both Little League and Teener League baseball. He also volunteered as a coach, game official and co-commissioner in the Schuylkill Haven Midget Football League.
He is survived by his wife, Molly; daughter, Kristyn, Orlando, Fla.; son, Kyle, Schuylkill Haven; his loving granddaughter, Khalle; along will all the students he ever taught.
