It is with great pride to let all of our alumni know that our Charter is back and the Alpha-Delta Chapter has returned to Penn State! The colony did an outstanding job over the past two years completing all of the requirements from IMH (International Memorial Headquarters) and earning recognition from Penn State.
The Installation and Banquet on April 18, 2009 was a great event which will provide lifetime memories for our new Brothers. 70 Brothers were initiated throughout the day and according to IMH was the largest colony every installed.
We were privileged to have the WGP (E.L. (Bill) Betz, Jr.) provide the keynote speech, along with our DGM (Wayne Zywiec). I know firsthand that Wayne put in countless hours with the colony over the two year period to make this day a reality. On behalf of our alumni, I want to thank Wayne and all of the IMH volunteers that supported our Chapter and will continue to support them as new Brothers.
In addition, we awarded three $5,000 Star & Crescent Scholarships right after the Banquet concluded. These scholarships have been on hold since we lost our Charter. The Star & Crescent scholarship is a great benefit to our Alpha-Delta undergraduate brothers and it was a fitting close to our full day of events.
Quite a few alumni made it to the Banquet and it was nice for our new Brothers to meet many of our alumni. Stay tuned for more information in the upcoming Alpha-Delta News and future monthly e-Letters.
