Q&A with David Ludwig ’65

Thank you to David Ludwig ’65 for participating in this Q&A….

Why did you join Kappa Sig over other fraternities?
Kappa Sig had the best parties.

What song(s) best defines your college experience?
Charlotte the Harlot

How did Kappa Sig help make you into the man you are today?
While I love my Kappa Sig brothers, it didn’t make me into the man I am today. Most of it was DNA and the rest was the result of three
years in the United States Marine Corps.

Tell us about a brother who was a mentor or went beyond the call of duty to help you.
There are several of them to include Larry Chopp, John Israelian, Robert Filo and Dean Madden.

What’s your greatest personal challenge to date and how did you overcome it?
Surviving the Vietnam Conflict. I overcame it with great training and luck.

What role does leadership play in a man’s life?
To me it is important; to many it does not play a role. Look at the current President, Barack Obama, a man devoid of leadership.

If you were walking onto the Penn State campus as a young freshman, what advice would you give to the younger you?
Stay focused on your studies. Have fun, explore opportunities but focus on your studies.
