THON: Documenting the Inspiration

Penn State Public Broadcasting will air a documentary Why We Dance: The Story of THON throughout Pennsylvania on Thursday, September 27.

The 60-minute documentary chronicles the student-run philanthropy, THON, and the children, families and students who are changed by their experience. It introduces viewers to Four Diamonds families battling childhood cancer. It also follows Penn State THON student volunteers as they plan and carry out logistics for fundraising events and share special experiences with their adopted THON families throughout the year.

For those not able to view the broadcast live, you can visit www.WPSU.org to access a live stream of the program at 8 p.m. ET Thursday, September 27. The program will also be available following the broadcast for four weeks through Comcast’s On Demand service.
