Spring 2013 Alumni Updates
Our Kappa Sig Brothers … where are they today? Larry H. Mack ’58 ([email protected]) Many good memories of living in the house from 1955 to 1958. I spent most of my free time playing bridge. On Saturday nights, we played from when the women had to go to their dorms until the spudnuts arrived Sunday morning. Retired […]
One of Our Oldest Supporters…
We recently learned about the passing of Robert C. Bacher ’47. This brother, who lived in the Pittsburgh area and was an avid
supporter of Kappa Sig, passed away in 2012 at the age of 88.
Bacher was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and a retired vice president of operations for Bell Atlantic after 42 years of service.
A longtime member of Highland Country Club and past president, he was also a former member of the board of directors of Suburban General Hospital and a longtime volunteer at the St. Teresa Parish Festival.

Be the First to Donate to the Furniture Fund
Now that Alpha-Delta has a new home, it’s time for us to outfit it for our new residents! This summer, we will be cleaning up and moving in … and we need as many brothers as possible to pitch in and donate to a special “Furniture Fund”.
Donating to the Furniture Fund makes a tangible impact on the chapter. When you visit the house next football season, you can actually point to a sofa, table or chair and say, “Hey, I made that happen!”
Life in a College Town
What do you miss most about living in State College? “We have a granddaughter who wants to go to Penn State. The first thing she said when she got home was, ‘Pop Pop’, did they have that homemade ice cream when you went there?” I could write a book on the “most” thing, but this […]

Remembering Our Heroes this May
May is just several weeks away. This year, we’d like to share your thoughts, messages, and memories of those soldiers who have served their country. For 2013 THON, Kappa Sigma and Gamma Sigma Sigma raised a combined $64,545.24 to benefit the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital.
What You May Not Know About the Old House
We asked a handful of brothers to tell us something today’s brothers probably don’t know about our former digs. Here is what they said: When you look at the old pictures of the “Frat House” from 1950, they just cannot do it justice. It was a grand old home, with a huge, wide, wood staircase, high […]
