THON 2008 Shatters Record, Raises $6.6 Million

Over 700 dancers sat for the first time in 46 hours as the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon drew to an end. The dancers, along with a standing room only Bryce Jordan Center crowd, watched intently as the amount of money raised was announced.

Colony Initiated By Sophomores and Juniors Is Giving Back To the Community through Philanthropic Efforts and Is Recruiting Members Quickly

As many of the Alpha-Delta alumni know, there is a new Alpha Delta colony at Penn State. I am the colony Grand Master. Last spring, a new colony began with the hopes of earning back the Alpha Delta charter. The colony was set in motion by several individuals who had interest in joining a fraternity but believed that they had missed the opportunity to do so being second semester sophomores or juniors. These individuals are friends of mine. We threw around the idea of restarting Kappa Sigma because it had been shut down while I was attempting to pledge two years ago.

In true Penn State fashion, record-setting attendance provided the perfect atmosphere for a victory. The 65,000-seat Alamodome hosted 66,166 fans as the Lions beat the Aggies of Texas A&M 24-17 in the 2007 Valero Alamo Bowl.

Penn State is ranked number 5 out of the Top 10 Best College Tailgating Scenes! Did you know that the small town of State College turns into the third-largest city during home games? So many fans come out solely for the tailgating aspect that officials had to ban the drinking of alcohol outside the stadium during home games. Like ESPN stated before, this definitely is the best place on Earth.
