Chapter Update
By Brandon Fello
This summer has been a crucial time for me and my executive committee. Personally, I am working a summer job, relaxing with family and friends at home, and occasionally taking a weekend roadtrip. However, even though I have been away from State College I still cannot keep my mind off of it. I am exteremly excited for all the growth and development that the chapter will experience this fall.
2017 Blue-White Date Set
Mark your calendars for April 22, 2017! That’s the date that Penn State has set for Blue-White weekend, a date that has emerged as a harbinger of spring, an unofficial spring reunion, and the celebration of a new year of football.
This past year’s Blue weekend included the Bryce Jordan Center hosting Luke Bryan and Bruce Springsteen concerts. The day after the spring football game, an estimated 3,000 participants in the Paterno Family Beaver Stadium Run raised more than $425,000 for Special Olympics Pennsylvania.
Scott Ott ’83, On His Band and Sera Tec
There was a time in the early 80’s, where the hottest band to see in State College was Kappa Sigma’s very own, Scott Ott Band, which would later become affectionately known as “S.O.B.”
We were so fortunate here at Affinity Connection, INC, to get a hold of Scott and ask him a few questions. He reflects on the band, his life now, and acting like the kind of man the Star and Crescent Creed says the men of Kappa Sigma should be.

With this large influx of new brothers, we met the challenge of keeping our ritual numbers high. By the end of the semester, we once again boasted 100% level one ritual proficiency.
H. Wesley Link ’55- “All The Good Things That Happen To You Are Gifts From God.”
“I chose Kappa Sigma because of the members, location and the beauty of the original house. I took over my dad’s business in 1992 when he died suddenly and I ran the business until December 2015. I always went with the flow and kept a positive attitude. I am most proud of being the Alumni […]

Who Remembers The Scott Ott Band?
An Excerpt From The August 5, 1983 Collegian:
Frederick Baesman ’64: “Life Has Always Been Good To Me.”
Brother FC Baesman took time to share what he wants people to remember about him in 50 years and how his life would be different today, without Kappa Sigma.
